We are Dr. Stephen & Kimberly Elksnis of Charleston, WV the Breeders/Owners of CasMor Bernese Mountain Dogs.

Our interest in Bernese Mountain Dogs started when we were introduced to the breed while living in Landstuhl Germany from 1995-1998. Steve was a Major and On-Staff Radiologist at the Landstuhl Army Medical Center. We loved Germany! It was here we discovered and fell in love with the Breed. We would see these beautiful dogs with their owners in restaurants and parks in Germany and Switzerland. This unleashed our passion for breeding and showing dogs.

We were able to purchase two beautiful dogs - a male and female. Sadly, we lost the male shortly after returning to the United States in 1998. Our female CH Cassi Vom Nibelungenpgad was our foundation. Pictures of Cassi are included in our site.

I grew up very involved in 4H. Riding and Showing Quarter and Arabian Horses in Western, SaddleSeat, and SideSaddle Styles. While in Germany, I was able to ride in an Equestrian Center learning the art of Dressage. I attribute much of my eye for a great dog from my experience in Horses. Structure is the foundation, However, there must be a package of Structure, Type and Temperament.

We breed only 1-2 litters a year and will occasionally have companion puppies available. Breeding sound in Mind/Body dogs is our priority. And as members of the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America, we adhere to the requirements of testing this National Club encourages.
